| The 3D market is expanding dramatically. Stereoscopic 3D is widely expected to take over the entire consumer electronics display market, ranging from the “personal display market” for single viewers, to multiple viewer displays which include movie theater screens, public advertising, and home TV sets. All the major studios are making 3D movies and all the major manufacturers are showing 3D televisions. Computer screens, portable computers, portable games and smartphones are all climbing on the bandwagon. 3D is destined to be everywhere. Like stereophonic sound and color television before it, 3D is just a better medium. For the moment, though, market expansion is being held back by the technology.
